For the second year running, the McConaghy Built Ker 40 Magnum III put in a great performance in a light airs regatta to be crowned UK IRC National Champion, and also becomes the Class one champion.

Owner/skipper Andrew Pearce and his team prevailed over 35 highly competitive yachts from seven nations in what has been called the most competitive IRC championships in the world.

In the lead up the the IRC Championship, Ker 40's 'Magnum III' and 'Hooligan VII' owned by Andrew Pearce and Edward Broadway placed second and third overall in the 101 boat fleet competing in the RORC Morgan Cup. While Andy Williams, won Ireland's Soverigns Cup with his Ker 40 'Keronimo', with an impressive six race wins in his scoreline.

For the third year in a row the Ker 40's have dominated the Myth of Malham Race. A battle between the Ker 40s saw a match race between Baraka, Hooligan VII and Magnum III all the way to Eddystone, with Magnum III being pipped to the post by Edward Broadway's Hooligan VII by only 15 minutes to claim winner of IRC One. 'It is such a fantastic boat to sail' said Broadway 'really responsive and very fast'.

Anticipation is building with the Rolex Fastnet Race less than a month away. Meanwhile III Ker 40s are gearing up for the Hong Kong to Vietnam Race which starts in October, David Ross KukuKerchu from Singapore will be joining Jamie McWilliam's Hong Kong based Signal 8 and Connell McLaren’s New Zealand based Ice Breaker.
