Today, the 2013 Laser North American Championships concluded with racing for all fleets in 10-15 knots. The Regatta management teams worked hard to deliver good racing throughout the event and variable conditions.

250 athletes from 10 countries and seven Canadian provinces competed on the fresh water of Kingston harbour, supported by 80 plus volunteers.

In the Laser Standard, Lee Parkhill was in the lead going into the last day. He successfully fought off the charge from the other National Team members, to claim the North American title. He was followed by team mates David Wright of Toronto and Robert Davis of Kingston who tied in points, but with David wining the tie-break to claim second.

The winner of the Laser Standard Silver fleet was Marek Zaleski from New York, followed by Bryant Wood from Nova Scotia in second, and his team mate Alexander Burke in third.

In the 4.7 Macey McCann from Texas secured the Championship title, followed by team mate Parker Hughes in second and Bailey Carter from Florida in third.

The Radial Gold fleet saw tight racing with three strong women leading the charge. Erika Reineke from the USA, the former Laser Youth World Champion secured the North American Title, finishing one point ahead of Canadian Sailing team member Brenda Bowskill. Elizabeth Yin from Singapore secured third place.

In the Radial Silver fleet Kyle Larsen from San Francisco, CA finished first, followed by Dana Rhode of Richmond Hill, GA and Richie Gordon from Ridgefield, CT.
