The industry innovators at Marine Auctions, based at Rivergate Brisbane, are gearing up for what they believe is a first: a $1 Reserve Price Boat Auction, running online from 25 to 29 July.
The auction of five brand new Noble brand boats, which director, Adrian Seiffert describes as 'stable, good sea boats, Australian concept, built in a reputable shipyard in China by craftsmen'.
'We believe it’s a first,' he says. 'We want to sell them, and the directors of the company believe, that instead of spending money on promoting the brand, a $1 reserve auction will gain plenty of attention! That’s the idea of it. Get more Noble boats out in the marketplace, which will create a demand for more. They're a great little boat!'
Seiffert admits, the $1 reserve is 'a big risk, but a good risk'.
'It will raise public awareness, and people will get great boats for a good price. We’re going to sell them.'
The five boats are: a 5m cuddy cabin, a 5.8m centre console, two 5m cuddy cabs and a 6.25m cuddy cab. 'They are all brand new and on trailers. They don’t come with motors, but we can organise any brand at a good price for the new owners since we have arrangements with most of the manufacturers.'
Noble is originally an Australian-made concept, previously built in Queensland, now produced in China by an Australian company with quality control, materials and production overseen by Australians.
'They are very sturdy and have undergone a lot of testing done over the years,' asserts Seiffert. 'We sell them to plenty of professional fisherman all over the country. Best of all, they come at a good price point, especially with reserve of $1!'
Seiffert continues: 'The boats are available for viewing at Rivergate Brisbane, but if you can’t make it to Brisbane, we can send specs and photos and you can view them online.'
