Beneteau invites- Design your OWN Oceanis, just as you want it...

by Nancy Knudsen on 26 Jun 2013
Will it be like this? Beneteau - Vicsail .
The most successful sailing boat manufacturer in the world - Beneteau - probably knows that to stay ahead of the game they will always have to been seen as inventing something new, something so innovative that it will take the rest of the boating manufacturers of the world at least a season to catch up. So now they are suggesting that you can design your OWN Oceanis.

In their latest announcement they suggest, without much detail. 'Imagine a cruiser, imagine your own cruiser… A revolutionary design by Beneteau for an Oceanis that evolves with your wishes, your life, and your needs. A seafaring cruiser true to the previous generations but with an original loft-inspired interior design.'

So here's the idea: The customer designs the boat in its initial configuration. It then evolves according each person’s lifestyle, through the addition of subtraction of items.

But even though they are saying that you can design it, they will not be passive, suggesting that it will be 'packed with lots of clever, stylish and fun ideas.'

They also claim that 'this Oceanis offers a different way of experiencing life on the water.'

Even more ambitious is their statement that 'A new page in the history of yachting has been written.'

There's no more detail - you're being invited to stay close to all the boat shows in order to learn more...

Hmmm. They have been very successful so far, let's see if they can pull this off!
