Northshore Nationals - Invitations open

by Rod Mackay on 24 Jun 2013
Northshore Nationals at Lake Macquarie Rod Mackay
Lake Macquarie’s RMYC Toronto Sailing Committee are pleased to announce invitations for the fourth Australian Championships for Northshore Yachts.

The event will feature spinnaker and non spinnaker divisions, and one design starts in classes that attract entries of 5 or more.

Current National Champion Northshore 369 'Valkyrie' owner Christian Nicks is from the CYCA in Sydney. 'We had a ball up in the Lake last year in a perfect regatta location. It's only 50 miles from Sydney, berthing and boat storage was easy and the RMYC certainly make you feel welcome. All going well we will be back again this year and looking forward to it.'

Eligible yachts include all Northshore models; Cole 19, 23 and Santanas built by Northshore.

The regatta will be staged this year on August 23-25, giving visiting yachts time to get their boats home for the start of their spring season.

Major sponsors Club Marine and RMYC Toronto will be on board again this year providing some great prizes.

We are looking at sourcing boats for interstate competitors who may wish to compete but not be able to transport their boat for the two day event. It is hoped the Nationals will expand in years to come to a three or four day competition; and given the pristine location this will no doubt eventuate.

There will be a buffet style dinner with entertainment on the Saturday night, with the prizegiving presentation being held on the Sunday afternoon after racing is complete.

For more information and Sailing Instructions for the event, please phone RMYC Toronto Sailing Committee on 0249592051 or visit here.
