by Imprint Media on 14 Jun 2013
The Ocean Alexander 72 will be on display at the Sydney boat show Ocean Alexander
International superyacht builder Ocean Alexander will make a long-awaited return to the Sydney International Boat Show this year. The brand has not been seen at the Sydney show in more than 20 years. Under its new team in Australia headed by Hank Compton, the company will display a new Ocean Alexander 72 Pilothouse motoryacht. 'We are very excited to unveil this magnificent motoryacht in Sydney,' said Compton. 'Ocean Alexander has a reputation worldwide for the highest quality build and luxury. There is no doubt she will add prestige to the show.' Compton said his team was delighted that Ocean Alexander CEO Johnny Chueh will attend the show. [Sorry, this content could not be displayed]Chueh said: 'We are pleased to regain our presence in the Australian and New Zealand market with the entry of the 72 Pilothouse in the Sydney Boat Show. There has been demand for our yachts in the region and it is our responsibility to reach out and make our products more accessible and convenient to our customers. 'Hank and his sales team provide a wealth of experience in this region's yachting industry so I know that the Ocean Alexander brand will be well represented and our customers will receive the attention and care they deserve.' The Ocean Alexander 72 includes three cabins; a full-beam master stateroom amidships, a forward double stateroom and twin-bed cabin, each with an ensuite bathroom. The boat also includes crew quarters aft. She is powered by twin Caterpillar turbo diesel engines rated at 1,150hp each. As a semi-custom builder of superyachts, Ocean Alexander offers a range of layout options, from accommodation to lavish styling and equipment options for the master ensuite such as a jacuzzi. Stepping into the 72’s salon from the aft deck brings you into a sweeping space - open, relaxed and impressively finished with exotic woods. Forward of the salon and two steps up, a massive galley is designed for both the exotic and the everyday. This area also includes the dinette a lower helm, all surrounded by gleaming glass that provides panoramic views day and night. The OA72 provides separate access to the master and guest accommodation: a staircase from the salon leads to the master while stairs down from the galley lead to the guests suite. Lighting throughout the Ocean Alexander 72 is LED, saving both power and heat.
