Malgré la fatigue et les milles plein les bottes, les équipages de la Route des Princes se sont retrouvés hier soir place du Commerce, dans une ambiance électrique : musique, sardinades, animations, gigantesque parade dans tous les quartiers de la ville… Lisbonne était en fête, les marins aussi, jusqu'au bout de la nuit. En ce jeudi de la Saint-Antoine, jour férié, Lisbonne est endormie. Hier, elle était en délire. Ici, on ne fête pas le saint-patron de la ville à moitié ! Né à Lisbonne en 1195, la ville commémore sa mort le 13 juin 1231, tous les ans. La capitale du Portugal toute entière respire la sardine grillée que l'on consomme partout pour 1 euro. La bière coule à flots, des bals de tous styles se côtoient offrant parfois des mix de sons très peu orthodoxes. La foule se délecte des célèbres « Marchas de Lisboa », défilés-concours traditionnels entre les différents quartiers de la ville sur l'Avenida da Liberdade. Costumes aux milles couleurs, danses façon carnaval brésilien, tam-tam, arches décorées, chaque quartier du grand Lisbonne se prête au jeu, du Bairro Alto à l'Alfama, en passant par le Baixa ou le Chiado.

Après une journée de repos largement méritée, demain, pour les marins, il va falloir se reconcentrer. La remise des prix à la mairie de Lisbonne se déroulera à 10h en présence de nombreux élus locaux, et le premier top départ sera donné à 15 h par le comité de course. Au programme : trois manches in-shore sur le Tage. Un décor de rêve pour les multicoques, entre la place du Commerce et le pont du 25 avril, un spectacle qui promet d'être grandiose pour le public à terre.
