The 15th annual Nepean One Design (NOD) Regatta is once again being hosted by the Nepean Sailing club from June 22 to 23rd, 2013. The National Capital region’s premier regatta, the NOD is open to the most popular amateur club one-design Dinghy and Keelboat classes in the spirit of sailing accessibility. A unique regatta event mixing a wide demographic, from youth to adult, Dinghy, Keelboat, and Able-sail, national and local contending teams alike, all in a single fun-filled weekend and location.

Invited fleet classes include; 420’s, 505’s, Albacore’s, C&C 27’s (Mk I-IV), Fireball’s, J/24’s, Kirby 25’s, Laser 28’s, Laser/Laser Radial, Martin 16’s (Able-sail), Shark’s, and Tanzer 22’s racing on three courses on the Ottawa river. NSC and the NOD organizers are pleased and excited to have the NOD 2013 designated a J/24 Ontario District 2014 Worlds qualifier this year. The NOD 2013 has also been designated part of the 2013 Gooderham Trophy series for the Albacore class and will host the C&C27 Ontario Championship’s.

The regatta organizing team of top notch, enthusiastic volunteers is looking to build on last year’s success with continued focus on both broad fleet participation and hosting a marquis regatta event. In addition to some great racing, plans for NOD 2013 include Saturday’s post-race Caribbean party, gourmet Saturday night dinner, live music, prize draws, and social breakfasts each morning before racing. With 12 popular fleets invited, we are expecting around 100+ boat teams and 350+ sailors to participate.

The NOD 2013 Notice of Race, online registration, and additional details is available from the NOD website. Regatta entry fees are $120 for keelboats, $85 for double handed dinghies and $65 for single handed boats. A 25% discount off the base entry fee is available for teams younger than 24 years old to support Youth and Student participation. This entry fee includes Continental breakfasts, after-race appetizers, all entertainment, awards, and Saturday night dinner tickets. Each boat will receive one T-shirt per registration. Additional regalia and dinner tickets are available for sale.

We look forward to welcoming you soon to the Nepean One Design 2013 Regatta!
