The Flying Dutchman World Championship has come to a close in Balatonföldvár, Hungary with Dutch sailors Enno Kramer and Aad Geelkerken taking the title.
The penultimate race was sailed in shifty winds as Kramer and Geelkerken took the race win to secure the World Championship in style. The Dutch team showed super consistency in their performances throughout the week with their worst score a fifth.
The fleet had to wait in thunderstorms for the wind to stabilize to start the final race. The end of game excitement clearly filled the air, Race 9 got under way with a black flag start after four general recalls.
Eighteen boats were disqualified for premature start, among them the Danish Bojsen-Moller brothers who had to settle for bronze.
The final race win went the way of Hungarian boat Kardos-Polgar with excellent performance.
