Round Texel Race Manager to introduce Sailor's Beach House

by Round Texel on 4 Jun 2013
Overall winners Brouwer/Samama in action - Zwitserleven Round Texel Race 2012 Laurens Morel
As a consequence of the ‘Back to Basic’ approach there will be some changes on the beach this year. The 36th edition of the Round Texel will be more focused on the sailors than ever before.

Sailor's Beach House
Race Manager Jeroen Romkema explains: 'At the request of the sailors we will introduce the Sailor’s Beach House: the place to be for the sailors during the Round Texel Sailing Week and the Round Texel race itself.'
Free breakfast and lunch for the sailors

The Sailor’s Beach House will be the home of the sailors and their families during the event. In co-operation with Paal17, free breakfast and lunch will be served for all participants from Wednesday June 12 until Friday June 14. In addition, on Saturday June 15, the day of the Round Texel itself, soup and bread will be served after the race, when the sailors have returned to the beach.

Extreme conditions
Should extreme weather conditions make it impossible for the Round Texel to take place on Saturday June 15, the organising committee will do everything possible to organize the event on the following day, Sunday June 16.
Note: Only the participants who had initially signed up for the Round Texel by Friday June 14 at 11 PM at the latest can enter the event on Sunday, in case it has to be postponed on Event website
