2013 Club Marine Australian Marine Export and Superyacht Industry Award Winners AIMEX
Within an industry focused on innovation, respectable quality, service and tourism, the 2013 Club Marine Australian Marine Export and Superyacht Awards ensured that the recognition within the Australian Superyacht Industry were recognized globally.

For the second year, the 2013 Club Marine Australian Marine Export and Superyacht Industry Awards has recognized and celebrated the success of the industry over the previous year. Applications for an award to distinguish success and gain global recognition came flowing in thick and fast until the last moment of the application close date. The high caliber and volume of applications made it an extremely arduous task for judges to select award winners across the three categories.

Muir Winches took out the prestigious ‘Superyacht Industry Business of the Year – Manufacturer’ award. Muir Engineering Group trading as Muir Windlasses Australia, is a world-leading manufacturer of marine anchor winches and windlasses, anchoring and docking systems and deck equipment for Super and Mega Yachts, Pleasure Craft, Fast Ferries and Commercial Vessels from 5 to 140 metres in length.

Managing Director Matthew Johnston was present at the Awards Gala Dinner to accept the award. Matthew said 'that the last few years had been tough but maintains that there is still a good market for quality products in this competitive global market.'

John Muir, Director of Tasmanian based and globally renowned Muir Winches was inducted into the Australian Marine Export and Superyacht Industry Hall of Fame for his outstanding achievements and contribution to the industry.

John was also awarded the '2013 Club Marine Australian Marine Export and Superyacht Industry Champion' award.
John Muir has been heavily involved in the superyacht industry for over 30 years since the MUIR business started exporting in 1968.

'John is an extremely driven and passionate man not only about his own business but also for the marine industry that he works in,' said Matthew Johston.

Aurora Global Logistics have been awarded the ‘2013 Superyacht Industry Business of the Year – Service Provider’. Jason Roberts, director of Aurora Global Logistics said 'it’s been an honour to be recognised as a key service provider to the Australian Marine Industry. We are a privately owned Australian company and compete daily against large international foreign owned companies and our hard work has finally paid off.'

Club Marine is proud to maintain sponsorship of the prestigious event. Corey Yeung, Club Marine’s National Relationships & State Manager said 'For Australian companies to be competitive in the Superyacht market, they need to be world class. Aurora Logistics and Muir Winches have shown that they are international market leaders as they continually set new benchmarks for service and product development.

Their success is a reflection on the quality of the leadership at both companies, and John Muir's induction into the Australian Marine Export and Superyacht Industry Hall of Fame is recognition of that leadership and also his contributions to the industry as a whole. Club Marine would like to congratulate John Muir on his achievements and Hall of Fame induction.'

The Awards were announced at the Industry Gala Dinner at the InterContinental Resort in Sanctuary Cove, Queensland on May 21.
