Swan owners from Northern Europe are planning to gather in Cowes (UK) for the bi-annual Gazprom Swan European Regatta organised by ClubSwan and the Royal Yacht Squadron from 13-19 July.

ClubSwan welcomes recent partner Gazprom as title sponsor, along with the support of the Saint Petersburg Yacht Club, for what promises to be another successful edition of this historic event.

The Gazprom Swan European Regatta includes five full days of racing and socialising shoreside at the ClubSwan regatta village in the Cowes Yacht Haven. For the first time, the event will incorporate the inaugural Gazprom Swan 60 World Championships, as well as the Swan 45 World Championships.

Winners of Class B during the 2011 edition of the Swan European Regatta, Iain Thomson racing Swan 40, Sloop John T with his brother Graham are aiming for glory again this year, 'After our triumph in the last Swan European Regatta we are very much looking forward to this year. We are sure there will be some great competition from all the Swans and we are going to be trying our best to replicate last year’s success'.

Edward Leask, racing with his family, onboard Club Swan 42 Magical Mystery Tour and winner of Class A is also starting preparations for the Gazprom Swan European Regatta, 'The last edition saw amazingly tight points in our Class right into the final race. We had a stunning week last time with, sun, plenty of wind and full on spinnaker legs! Both myself and the MMT team with some of the crew repeating their roles from the Rolex Swan Cup last summer are happy to start the training process and defend our title for 2013.'

'We are looking forward to returning to Cowes in July. The Gazprom Swan European Regatta is the most important event on the ClubSwan calendar this summer. Our gracious hosts, the Royal Yacht Squadron always organise excellent racing in the Solent which is perfect for Swans,' said Luca Lucheschi, Commercial Director of Nautor’s Swan.
