Hamilton Island is now offering free Wi-Fi access to guests staying on the popular Whitsundays’ Island.

One of the first major Australian tourist destinations to offer complimentary Wi-Fi, guests staying at the Reef View Hotel and Palm Bungalows will now receive a complimentary 400MB broadband package upon arrival, which can be used both In Room and around the Island including in the Reef View Foyer and Lounge Bar, at the Tour Desk/Outrigger Centre, Island Bar (Main Pool), Kegal Bowling, Hamilton Island Yacht Club and the Airport Lounge and Baggage Area.

Phillipa Harrison, Hamilton Island’s General Manager Sales, said: ‘Wi-Fi is a very hot topic right now, and expanding our complimentary Wi-Fi has been a key focus for us. We recognise the need to stay abreast of what our consumers want and with the growing prevalence of social media it was a natural progression for us.’

Sophie Baker, Hamilton Island’s Senior Communications Manager said the Island also wanted to support Tourism Australia’s aspirations to make Australia the world’s most talked about holiday destination.

‘Social media apps and platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter allow our guests to share their stories and experiences in real time around the globe. This advocacy is both authentic and far-reaching, thus by giving our guests complimentary Wi-Fi access we’re helping them to share their stories and sell Hamilton Island, and Australia, to the world.’

Guests staying in a Hamilton Island Holiday Home also now receive complimentary Wi-Fi, accessible at the same Island locations. The complimentary Wi-Fi packages have an expiration period of four days; however guests can request a further complimentary 400MB after their initial package has expired.

The luxurious qualia resort, Yacht Club Villas and boutique Beach Club Resort already offer complimentary Wi-Fi to guests.
For day visitors or guests staying privately on the Island, there is also a new, generous Wi-Fi purchasing option. A 2GB broadband package will cost just $25 with a four day validity period, allowing guests to access high volume internet content, including downloads and streaming.
