Korea International Boat Show 2013 - sold out!

by KIBS on 25 Apr 2013
KINTEX, Seoul. It’s big. Very big. Guy Nowell http://www.guynowell.com
With just over a month to go, the 2013 Korea International Boat Show is sold out. Special Adviser Tim Coventry commented, 'we have 60 overseas exhibitors from 10 countries, and 154 domestic exhibitors. Country Pavilions will be from China, Japan, NMMA, Italy and South Africa. Last year we had 91 overseas and 99 domestic. The over 50% increase in domestic exhibitors supported by a further year on year increase in leisure boat registrations indicates solid evidence of continuing strong market development.’

Confirming that the show will go ahead as planned, Coventry commented on the current political situation between North and South Korea.’The people of the South are well used to the bellicose and threatening behavior of North Korea and have found it hard to understand why the international media have made such a big story of what they consider to be just a badly behaved nuisance rather than a real threat to peace. In spite of all this, we are looking at what will be the largest boat show in Korea to date, and almost certainly now one of the leading shows in the Asian Region.’

For the trade there will be an industry conference on 31 May focusing on Asian boating market information, the latest industry technical developments and a Key Note presentation from the new ministry responsible for all boating matters. There is also a B2B match-making programme.

The Korea International Boat Show has re-located to the new KINTEX Exhibition Centre in Seoul City for its sixth edition from 30 May-02 June 2013. The move represents a major step in the development of the show. KINTEX is one of the most modern exhibition centers in Asia, and will attract a larger visitor base with over 24 million people residing within a radius of 80 kilometers. There will be many in-show public feature activities to capture the imagination for all the boating opportunities.
