At the second act of the 2013 Extreme Sailing Series in Singapore, it was another blistering day on the race course for the SAP Extreme Sailing Team as they secured their first win of the season in Race 17. The searing heat and humid atmosphere have not detracted the team from their mission and carefully matching their strategy to the conditions has resulting in them moving up another position on the leaderboard.

With a win and second place secured on the water at Marina Bay, the SAP Extreme Sailing Team currently lie in fourth place overall and are determined to keep the pressure on during the last day of racing tomorrow.

Coming off the water earlier, trimmer Mikkel Rossberg, said: ' Overall, today was the best we’ve ever sailed in these conditions, we are really happy, good starts, good tactics and good speed were key factors to our performance.

Speed made a big difference when it came to getting us out of sticky situations, which we have experienced all week. Our win in Race 17 came from a great start off the line, sticking to our game plan and we took no unnecessary risks. It’s quite easy out here to panic but we took control, relaxed and had confidence. We trusted in what we wanted to do.'
