On the first day of Act 2 of the 2013 Extreme Sailing Series, SAP Extreme Sailing Team was on deck for battle. Marina Bay in Singapore played host to the seven competing teams who were challenged by the tight confines of the race course and the added issue of constantly shifting winds. With an impressive and imposing skyline surrounding the small race course of Marina Bay, the world class racing teams battled it out with the SAP Extreme Sailing Team edging their way up the rankings.

The SAP Extreme Sailing Team currently sit in sixth place at the end of the first day of racing. Commenting on their performance, trimmer Pete Cumming said: 'To be just four points off second place is great. We engineered the improvements on the water today and our strategy to deal with the shifty confused winds on a tight race course, involved different lines of communications and positioning on the boat. We also ticked all the boxes in terms of our goal to avoid any penalties. We analysed our performance in Oman, came up with new solutions to rewrite our playbook and it's working.'

The Extreme Sailing Series has a highly competitive and experienced fleet and the SAP Extreme Sailing Team use SAP Analytics to review their performance and look for opportunities to make gains on their race rivals. Extreme Sailing Series
