Adrian Seiffert Director of Marine Auctions said now could be the best time to enter the Boat Market as now the prices for most types of Boats and Marina Berths are the cheapest they have been in many years.
Adrian said with prices for all types of Boats and most Marina Berths are now at an all time low, he is now starting to see more buyers entering the market and also many people upgrading into bigger boats. There are a lot of potential buyers now realising it is a good time purchase. Adrian also said he has seen a decline in the amount of Grey Imports arriving in Australia as many buyers now realise the many Boats offered for sale in Australia are now cheaper than most overseas.
There are some signs the demand for some second hand boats is improving. Boat values are starting to increase with a notable upturn in demand especially for late model Power Boats with low hours, Aluminium Fishing Boat and Late model Fiberglass Yachts up to around 45 feet, also there is some new activity at the Upper Luxury end for both Power and Sail, which has been a bit stagnant for the last few years.
Adrian said now could be the best time ever for anyone that is wanting to get into boating , as he believes prices have hit rock bottom, and is anticipating we may see a turn around this year with prices slowly increasing for most types of second hand boats.
There are now some potential buyers that are also anticipating a price increase and are now wanting to make their purchase at the bottom of the market in the belief they will reap the reward as they ride the wave of the price growth. As prices and demand starts to increase we will see an increase in confidence, and the 'Fear of missing out 'will no doubt assist in pushing up the values.
Adrian also said Marine Auctions is undertaking what is believed to be a first in Australia, an Online Auction of around 20 Marina Berths of various sizes located from Airlie Beach in the North to Horizon Shores Marina in the South of Queensland, will be offered for sale at an Online Auction, with the Online Bidding commencing on Friday 12th April and will end of Thursday 18th April. (Visit the Marine Auctions website, www.marineauctions.com.au for online bidding details).
Some more news from Marine Auctions is that Bill Frankhauser has come out of retirement to assist in running the Special Auction to be held at the Runaway Bay Marina on Sunday 26th May (Sanctuary Cove Boat Show weekend).
Marine Auctions will have on display at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show a magnificent 65ft New Zealand Built Cutter Rig Sloop and a Noble 5.8 metre Aluminium Centre Cabin.
