Presen vs Mueller in the final of the 2013 Slovenian Open Match Racing Championship Jakica Jesih
Dejan Presen - world number 54 Match Racer - has claimed his first Slovenian National Match Racing Title in Izola, Slovenia and the overall win after beating Swiss Lorenz Mueller in the final.

Perfect sailing conditions with the sea breeze from six to twelve knots welcomed eight teams on the opening day of racing in Izola, Slovenia. The last semi-final spot was decided in the last flight of the round robin with Hrvoje Petrovic (CRO) winning against Gorazd Rajar (SLO) to join Dejan Presen (SLO), Lorenz Mueller (SUI) and Bojan Rajar (SLO) in the knock-out stage.

Strong shifty southerly winds provided challenging conditions for the four remaining skippers on the last day of racing. Both semi-finals finished 2-0 with Lorenz Mueller dominating Bojan Rajar and Dejan Presen beating Hrvoje Petrovic leaving the two to race for the third place with Bojan Rajar winning 2-1.

In the final Presen took the win in the first race with Mueller taking the second after a bad spinnaker drop at the leeward mark from Presen gave him the win. The next two races were dominated by Presen who led from start to finish with perfect sailing leaving the Swiss sailor with no chance to come back.

Presen commented after the win, 'We finally won Slovenian National Match Racing Title in our third try after third and second place in previous years.'

The organizers used the tracking system in all matches and the final races were broadcasted live on the internet. You can watch all tracking replays from all matches are available here.
