At the 2013 ISAF Sailing World Cup on Miami’s Biscayne Bay, Greg Douglas claimed silver with a third in the medal race securing second place overall and earning his best World Cup result to date. Douglas was nine points ahead of third place Finn sailor Jorge Zarif from Brazil. Martin Robitaille played hard with the big boys all regatta and finished a respectable sixth overall in the 30 boat fleet.

The Radials were the last fleet out on the water today but it was definitely worth the wait! The battle was between Paige Railey (USA), Ireland's Murphy, Tuula Tenkanen (FIN) and Isabella Bertold, the sole Canadian in the Radial medal race. While all was looking well in the second race of the day, Bertold and Murphy were flagged on the final downwind costing them both significant positions right before crossing the finish. With her podium position in jeopardy, Isabella had to pull out all the stops in the final race of the regatta and she did just that in a very close finish, she takes the win and captured the bronze medal.

David Wright and Robert Davis battled it out with the top 10 Lasers in three race medal series. In race one, Wright pulled off a third, however big shifts created some challenges and Wright slipped back on the leaderboard to finish fourth overall. Robert Davis sailed an 8, 5, 4 to move up to an impressive sixth to end his day.

Nikola Girke and Luke Ramsay close out their first regatta in the Nacra with a fifth overall. They steadily improved their results throughout the week including a race win on day four. Be sure to keep an eye on this team as they pursue 2016.

Skiff fans were treated to an exciting final day of racing on their theater-style course set up. Canadians Ladha/Inkpen sailed to a fourth place finish while Mori/Barnesfinished close behind in sixth overall. Check out video action, commentary provided by CST alumni Ben Remocker and Trevor Parekh on the theater style racing today.

Berry and Boyd leave an impression in their FX debut with two wins this week and putting the challenge to other world class sailors. They end their regatta in a tie breaker for fourth place.

Saunders 470 team finished up their event in fourth overall, a promising result at the beginning of a quadrennial for these up and coming sailors.

All said and done in Miami, Canadian sailors rose to the occasion, sporting the maple leaf in every medal race and ultimately hitting the podium in three different events! 'It was great to see the Canadian squad secure these podium scores as well as being competitive in almost every class at the event,' says HP Director Ken Dool. 'It is always good to start the new campaign off with some solid finishes, it helps with the confidence and reinforces the work that has gone in since the Games'.
