by Jennifer Crooks on 21 Jan 2013
CYCA Commodore Howard Piggott presents Marcus Anketell with the half model at the launch of the d’Albora Marinas Elliott d’Albora marinas
d’Albora Marinas, the biggest marina group in Australia, has entered an agreement with the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia’s Youth Sailing Academy to sponsor one of the Elliott 6.0m training vessels for twelve months.

d’Albora Marinas is Australia's largest marina group offering an array of different berthing options. From the rack and stack facilities located at Pier 35 and Akuna Bay, to the swing moorings at The Spit, to the premium floating berths located at all seven marinas.

'd’Albora Marinas is delighted to be a sponsor of Youth Sailing in Australia through the CYCA Youth Sailing Academy. We strive to remain a leader in the boating industry and encourage more people to go boating more often. This is fantastic initiative to give young people the skills and early passion for this tremendous leisure activity and sport,' Marcus Anketell, CEO d’Albora Marinas said.

Commodore Howard Piggott thanked d’Albora Marinas for their support of youth sailing. 'The Cruising Yacht Club of Australia prides itself on providing one of the leading youth sailing academies in Australia. Elliott sponsorship is vital to the ongoing maintenance of the training fleet and provides support for the many programs and regattas that the CYCA's Youth Sailing Academy conducts,' said Commodore Piggott.

'A new fleet of Elliott 7.0m boats will be launched in August this year to coincide with the 20 year anniversary of the foundation of the Youth Sailing Academy,' he added

Currently, the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia has sponsorship opportunities available for the Youth Sailing Academy Elliotts and match racing regattas.
