The 2013 Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show will again team up with National 4x4 and Outdoors Show – two great shows for the price of one – 15-17 March at Brisbane’s RNA Showgrounds.

This mega-event will cover EVERYTHING you need to get outdoors and on the water for Easter.

Club Marine is onboard as official presenting partner again in 2013 and show stalwart, Bart Beek will be cooking up a storm on the Club Marine Cooking Stage.

As well as offering kids under 15 free entry, there will be loads for the junior set to do, with the 4BC Kid's Marine Zone back again to educate and inspire tomorrows fisher-people! The FREE sessions hosted by 2 Bent Rods are a great hands on way for kids to learn the basics of fishing.

Other 4BC Kids Marine Zone activities include:

PLASTER MOULD PAINTING
The younger kids can choose from a selection of plaster moulds to paint. The moulds will be dry enough to take home by the time they finish the clinic.

KNOT TYING
The older kids will use a Hook Eze to learn how to tie a locked half blood knot. Some of the more advanced fishers can be taught the mono to braid knot and the loop knot.

YABBIE PUMPING & MULLET CHUKKA
Kids will learn how to use a yabbie pump. We use water crystals and soft plastics in a specially designed container. We have 'Heats' and a final. Each child will receive a prize and the overall winner will receive a larger prize.
Mullet chukka is where the kids throw large soft plastic lures at the radar gun, the speed is displayed on a screen and the fastest thrower receives a prize

ROD CASTING
Using 'Egg Beater reels', kids will cast rods at some very inflated target balloons. An instructor will work closely with the kids as well as the group leader so that we can have 2 children casting at the same time. Every child will receive a prize, the ones that pop a balloon will receive a larger prize

CAST NETTING
Kids will be taught how to throw our custom made 4' cast nets. There will be an instructor permanently at this station as well as the group leader so that we can have 2 children casting at the same time. Each child will receive a prize and the child from each group that catches the most targets will receive a larger prize

BAIT NETTING
Kids will be taught how to use our custom made bait nets. There will be an instructor permanently at this station as well as the group leader so that we can have 2 groups of 2 children netting at the same time. The children will net around a course and try to avoid the snags. Each child will receive a prize and the children from the winning group will receive a larger prize.

SALT WATER TANK
The group leader will drop the children at this station. There will be an instructor permanently at this station that will discuss the various creatures, and DPI rules regarding fishing.
Salt water tank 1:
Children will be shown various sea creatures & estuary fish for Identification.
Salt water tank 2:
There will be a variety of dangerous fish such as Bull Routs, Stinger Rays etc. We also have an interactive discussion with the children
Please Note: Fish are subject to availability
Salt water tank 3:
This will be a NO touch tank and may contain a shark and a few blue bottles...depending upon species availability.
Catching Red Claw
Children will use lengths of string and various baits to try to catch the freshwater yabbies. This is the final station where the children wait for their parents to return to pick them up.

GROUP SAFETY TALK & LUCKY PRIZE DRAW
Group Safety Talk: This is an interactive talk with the kids on marine safety. We cover things like, sun damage, sting rays, stone fish, sharks etc.
Lucky Prize Draw: Each child will be given a lucky number for the prize draw. At the end of the talk we will conduct the draw.

No one leaves empty handed with all participants receiving a sample bag with magazines, fishing information and the prizes they've collected along the way!

Parents don't miss out either! Make sure you check the vouchers table when you drop the kids off and go get yourself a show bargain while the kids are keeping busy!
