Sydney to Gold Coast First handicap division news

On Line Honours this evening Grundig is just ahead of Tokolosh Luna Park Sydney with Andrew Short Marine-Djuice third ahead of Broomstick.

However the real race for the fleet is the handicap racing.

The first Australian IMS offshore race with water-ballasted boats is the Sydney to Gold Coast 2003.

Tonight at 5:50pm the 1999 Sydney to Hobart winner Fitness First Sting leads IMS Division A from the water ballasted Volvo 60 Andrew Short Marine with Ragamuffin third. Terra Firma 5 miles behind her is in fourth place.

In IMS Division B Nigel Holman Sydney 38 Cuckoos Nest leads the Sydney 36 Amante with J Force third.

In IRC Division A Broomstick now second on line honours is leading the handicap division from Espresso Forte with Pretty Woman third.

Ludde Ingvall’s Tokolosh Luna Park, better known to most sailors as Nicorette is leading the race and is now fourth on handicap.

Steve O’Rourkes Farr 40, with her masthead kite powering her northwards is leading IRC Division B from the Sydney 38 Rush, Cuckoos Nest is third.

In IRC C the Mumm 36 Corum is enjoying the running conditions leading Amante and True North

In PHS Division A Bullistic leads Strewth with UBS Wild Thing third.
In PHS Division B Sea-Change leads Wahoo with Maurie Cameron’s veteran Witchdoctor third.

Night sailing, encountering light airs in the Transat Paprec, Congressional Cup We bundled up as the last of the rays sunlight dipped below the Olympic Mountains and night quietly fell on Puget Sound.
