Chaparral SSi 225 run Chaparral Australia
Following recent exhaustive testing against a class field of quality opposition, the Chaparral 225SSi Sports Cabin has been awarded the title of Australia’s Greatest Day Cruiser.

As part of Trailer Boat magazines annual 'Australia’s Greatest Boats' series for 2012; judges tested a number of boats and awarded points for ten different criteria including innovation, quality of finish, ergonomics and value for money.

The Chaparral 225 sports cabin scooped the pool, with solid scores across the board including four perfect tens for criteria such as design, layout and appearance and the all important handling and ride.

The judges were obviously impressed with the boat saying that the 225 SC was 'funky and family friendly', 'an absolute hoot to drive' and that 'your significant other half will love the comfort and ambience, and the kids will think you’ve gone all cool' One judge even offered to bare his bum in Bourke St if anyone could show him a better overall package for the money!

Chaparral have a rich history of winning awards around the world, with 15 boats of the year in the coveted U.S Powerboat and NMMA awards system, as well as 31 awards for product excellence. They have the highest possible customer satisfaction rating in the U.S CSI program with accolades across their entire model range.

'Chaparral are consistent in their approach to innovation, performance and quality, their R&D program is at its highest level in the company’s 48 year history and we are proud to represent such a great product in Australia and New Zealand', says Scott O’Hare from Chaparral Australia; 'It is especially pleasing that we have won two different categories in successive years with the 216SSi Bowrider winning in 2011 and also our 244 Xtreme wake boat runner up in the sports boat category against traditional shaft drive wake boats; surprising everybody'

Australia’s Greatest Boats awards can be found in the October/November edition of Trailer Boat Magazine (edition #288). For the test that started it all, click here.
