NIWA Says: Warm – Dry – Westerlies… Sounds perfect for the Bay of Islands Sailing Week 2013. Keep your fingers crossed.

The early entry discount finishes on December 31, 2012, enter by then and you will save $25.00 – to put that in a realistic format – equivalent to five beers.

Heavy weather courses are revised and clearly explained in the Sailing Instructions. So even if it is too windy to set the windward leeward courses – racing is still a go.

Music is confirmed: the Windjammers for the first two nights – then the Furious Three again for Prizegiving. The North Sails marquee will be humming.

Remember to check your accommodation arrangements; we suggest the affordable Tanoa Paihia Hotel on Joyces Road, just minutes walk from the Paihia Wharf. (09) 4027911 . A breakfast bar is open from early. An Indian Restaurant and bar on site.

Reminder about mooring and marina bookings: Opua Marina - enquiries@opuamarina.co.nz. Don’t forget to advise Opua Marina of the name of the boat – draft – LOA – all that important stuff.

Christmas is nearly here – presents to be wrapped – trees to be decorated, The Bay of Islands Sailing Week committee wish you all a very safe and happy Christmas.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Bay of Islands Sailing Week Committee: Ray Haslar, Andrew Riddell, David Hope-Lewis, Lesley Haslar, Allen Jones, Annette Jones, John Grant and our Event Coordinator, Melanie McDiarmid.

Suggestions and comments are always appreciated.
