Waterski races granted aquatic licence on Lake Macquarie

by Roads and Maritime Services on 7 Dec 2012
SW
Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) has posted an alert for boaters to keep clear of the Toronto Bay part of Lake Macquarie starting from 11 a.m to 4 p.m for the safe staging of waterski racing event on Sunday.

Maritime Hunter/Inland Regional Manager Sonia McKay said boaters should keep clear of the Toronto Bay part of the lake from 11am to 4pm.

'This area will be used exclusively for the safe staging of waterski races organised by Ski Racing NSW,' Ms McKay said.

'The course will be marked by inflatable buoys.

'For safety reasons, skippers should avoid this area as it will be restricted for the event and patrolled by club and control vessels,' she said.

Ms McKay said vessels would not be permitted to enter the exclusive use area unless authorised by a boating safety officer or a police officer.
