Marine 13 expects world class presenters to energise businesses

by Marine 13 on 29 Nov 2012
The forthcoming Marine 13 International Conference and Exhibition will not only be a showcase of the finest products in the maritime and sailing worlds, but also a hub for business ideas as enterprises look to further build momentum by taking notes the strategies and philosophy of some of the top notch executives in the industry.

Vice Chairman of the Marina Industries Association (MIA) Darren Vaux confirmed Appliances Online boss John Winning and other world class presenters are scheduled to attend the groundbreaking event in Sydney from 28th to 30th of April 2013.

A compelling case is being built for marine businesses to attend Marine13 International Conference and Exhibition in Sydney according to the Boating Industries Alliance of Australia (BIAA) Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Marina Industries Association (MIA) Darren Vaux. 'The growing list of world class presenters who will be sharing their strategies for business success is making attendance at Marine13 a ‘must do’ for marine businesses wanting to keep ahead of their competitors,' said Mr. Vaux.

Mr. Vaux said John Winning, CEO of Appliances Online, was the latest identity to join the speakers list.

'John has a vast amount of boating and business experience,' Mr. Vaux said. 'He will share his intimate knowledge on how he established an online business and built it up from the ground to become arguably one of Australia’s most successful online retailers. 'John’s presentation will focus on the importance of leading edge technology and customer service providing valuable insight for marine businesses weighing up their commitment to online marketing and their customer service strategies.'

Business investment in boat shows will be the focus of another Marine13 session for the boating business stream that will be led by internationally renowned UK-based speaker Andrew Williams. Andrew will share his in-depth knowledge and research across boat shows and other live events to demonstrate where even the best exhibitors can gain incremental results as well as offer several solutions to help exhibitors engage with visitors, sell more and increase their return on investment at shows.

He will also be a member of the panel discussing experiential marketing. Andrew was the MD of UK’s National Boat Shows where his key focus was on delivering a major turnaround in the fortunes of the principal UK show, the London Boat Show. Andrew has also recently worked for UK’s Princess Yachts and prior to his boat show work was in senior marketing/customer service roles with MGM, Disney and Nintendo.

Online registration is open for Marine13 with an early bird registration incentive in place. Exhibition and sponsorship details are also provided on the website. Marine 13 website

Grabbing chances with both hands
Can bad weather actually lead to more sailing? There's been no getting away from the fact that it's been a pretty miserable start to 2024 weather-wise in the UK. February saw record rainfall (yes, I know we're famed for our rain over here), it's been seriously windy and generally chilly.
