Sorrento Sailing and Couta Boat Club welcome Chris Nicholson

Sorrento Sailing and Couta Boat Club was very proud to play host to Chris Nicholson, multiple world champion, twice Olympian and veteran of four Volvo Ocean Races on Saturday night.

SSCBC Commodore Robbie Hiam said, 'To have someone of Chris’s statue entertaining us for a night was a terrific opportunity and a great way to get some firsthand knowledge of life at the very top of our sport. For Chris to be spend some time with our Juniors and Youth in the afternoon followed by our evening presentation was just a great event for everyone here'.

Chris spoke of not only his previous campaigns which had the audience mesmerised but also his recent sail on the Team New Zealand AC72. Unseen video footage wrapping up the Camper Volvo campaign was shown, giving a great insight into the highs and lows of what the team went through.

It was a most inspirational night, one that club members will be talking about for a long time.
