Off Batemans Bay, NSW, Australia Waterspout
You wouldn't want to be sailing out there. A homemade video of a gigantic waterspout spiraling close off the coast of NSW’s south coast yesterday has become a hit in the Internet, generating roughly 137,000 viewers just hours since it was uploaded on Youtube.
The waterspout unleashed its brunt off Batemans Bay Sunday afternoon and drew tremendous attention on several social media sites because of it perfectly formed vortex and intense nature.
Bureau of Meteorology severe weather forecaster Mick Logan even dubbed the waterspout ‘the most intense’ he has ever witnessed off the New South Wales coast.
'It's the most intense that I've seen off the NSW coast,' he told AAP Monday. 'There's not many photos that I would know of that have come in with something as strong as that one.'
The veteran weather forecaster said waterspouts are expected to appear off Australia’s east coast during this time of the year because of the convergence of cooler air and warmer sea temperature.
Here is the actual video caught and uploaded by The Grazia.
