It is difficult for those not affected to envisage the scope of Hurricane Sandy. However, thanks to the National Geodetic Survey from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) above, this is a bird's eye view of before and after the worst Atlantic Hurricane on record hit the north east coast of North America:
