America's Cup- Emirates Team NZ and the Friday Racers

Emirates Team NZ lines up against the ORMA60 Team VodafoneSailing - Emirates Team NZ AC72 October 12,2012 Richard Gladwell www.photosport.co.nz

Emirates Team NZ's AC72 put in her 11th day on the water - for about 75 hours of sailing time - and as is becoming a feature of Friday evening racing, ripped through the fleet.

Just for something different the ORMA60, TeamVodafoneSailing, was out leading the fleet and Emirates Team NZ took the chance to line up against her first competition, for a short drag to windward, before returning for a foil-past up the Waitemata harbour.

Despite the apparent sea-state. according to the Observations facility in www.predcitwind.com!Predictwind the breeze was only averaging 14-15kts with gusts up to 18-20kts from a northerly direction.

Sail-World's camera caught the action on Friday afternoon and on Thursday morning, as the AC72 left for her tenth day of testing. By our count Emirates Team NZ have clocked up about 75 hours on the water to date, with only one day being halted for what proved to be relatively minor damage.
