The penultimate event of the Extreme Sailing Series will take place in Nice, France from the 18th-21st October and the current ISAF World Match Racing champion, Ian Williams is to lead the GAC Pindar Extreme team once again.

Fresh from competing at Match Race France and the Argo Gold Cup in Bermuda where the Brit picked up another two podium results, Williams now heads to France ready for some more thrilling Extreme 40 multi-hull action.

Williams will rejoin the GAC Pindar Extreme team comprising of the US golden girl of sailing and Olympic medalist Anna Tunnicliffe, America's Cup sailor Mark Bulkeley, Tornado sailor Andrew Walsh and 49er sailor Rick Peacock. Having narrowly missed out on a podium result in Cardiff, the GAC Pindar team are eager to continue their quest for a podium finish.

Williams says: 'I am really looking forward to getting back at the helm of the GAC Pindar Extreme 40 in the Nice event. Walshy did a great job standing in for the last two regattas and having got so close to the podium in China and Cardiff this year, I really feel it is just a matter of time. I am excited about sailing with Anna Tunnicliffe and Rick Peacock for the first time and hope this is the regatta where we can finally crack it!'

The 2012 Extreme Sailing Series has been the most action-packed season to date yet, with the highly anticipated finale being held in the city of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, December 6 - 9. The event will be the culmination of eleven months of global touring for the eight Extreme 40 teams where the final races of the Series will be played out for the overall 2012 Series championship title.
