The Kiteboard Racing World Championship, which will conclude tomorrow at Poetto after four days with high technical and competitive races, expressed their top riders. Even today the Sirocco made it to master the challenge of the Gold fleet male and the Women fleet, still in contention for the Medal Race. The stars of the four races of the day were Johnny Heineken (USA) and Steph Bridge (GB).
Like in the last few days, the Poetto welcomed the competitors with flat water and no air. However, for the third consecutive day, the sirocco wanted to be in the game, gusty, with initial intensity of 16 knots. The start was around 12, with lot of people gathering at the beach in order to admire the riders!
Among the riders, the reigning world champion Steph Bridge - captain of the British and the mother of three children, the largest of which also involved him in the championship - has fielded all his talent, winning three out of four races against her opponent Erika Heineken. With five points gap, however, Erica, the U.S. Lady, stays in the lead of the group of the top ten of the Medal race: after her, Steph Bridge (GB), Caroline Adrien (FRA), Katja Roose (NED), Nayara Licariao (BRA), Christine Boenniger (GER), Elena Kalinina (RUS), Alice Brunacci (ITA), Lilian De Geus (NED), Justina Sellers (NZL).
Johnny Heineken, in the male gold fleet, cleared the day with straight bullets. Behind him we find: Andrea Riccardo Leccese (ITA), Adam Koch (USA), Florian Gruber (GER), Kerneur Julien (FRA), Bryan Lake (USA), Maxime Nocher (FRA), Wilson Veloso (BRA) Dave Robertson (NZL), Adam Victor (BRA).
The last day will be full of action and adrenaline. Stay tuned!
