New Marine Export Board looks to double manufactured exports by 2025

The new board of the NZ Marine Export Group (NZMEG), elected at its recent AGM, believes there are still great opportunities for New Zealand’s determined marine exporters.
The new board of directors of the export arm of the NZ marine industry is:
Stuart Robinson - Robinson Interiors (Chair)
Rodney Martin - Fitzroy Yachts (Deputy Chair)
Steven Bates - Yachtlifeline
Ian Cook - Yachting Developments
Michael Eaglen - Mc Mullen and Wing
Andrew Lilly - Stainless Downunder
Chris McMaster - Doyle Sails
Owen Rutter - Events Clothing (Outgoing Chair)
Richard Thorpe - Oceanbridge Shipping.
Peter Busfield - NZ Marine Industry (CEO)
NZMEG chair Stuart Robinson says: 'While we are in challenging times, there are certainly great opportunities for the New Zealand Marine Industry and, as a board, it is our continued focus to capitalise on those opportunities.'
Members of the NZ Marine Export Group this week head to the Monaco Yacht Show to promote their world-class products and services to the global superyacht industry.
The Monaco Yacht Show is Europe’s premier boat show and one of the most important marine showcases in the world.
Determined to aggressively promote the advantages of Kiwi made marine products will be an impressive list of local boat builders, spar and sail makers, equipment manufacturers and service providers.
'All of our key sector groups will be well represented at this key show and all are focused on securing new business for our industry,' says Robinson.
Robinson says that NZ marine industry now accounts for 10% of New Zealand’s manufactured exports.
'That makes us more determined than ever to meet our long term goal of doubling our exports (from $650 million per annum to $1.3 billion) by 2025,' he says.
New Zealand companies exhibiting at the Monaco Yacht Show include: C-Quip, Events Clothing, Fitzroy Yachts, Harken, Magnus Marine, Manson Anchors, McKay, McLellan Jacobs, McMullen & Wing, MedAire, North Sails, Southern Spars and Yachting Developments.
Those attending the show include: Integrated Marine Group, Lloyd Stevenson Boatbuilders, Robinson Interiors and Superyacht Interiors NZ.
