Hamilton Ontario welcomes Star Class NAs September 9 - 15

The International Star Class North American Championships have a 38 strong fleet due on the start line for the opening day of racing on Tuesday, September 11th and Regatta Chair Brian Cramer is looking forward to welcoming former NA champions George Szabo, Phil Trinter and John Macausland and 2000 Olympic Gold Medalist Magnus Liljedahl to Royal Hamilton Yacht Club for four days of competition on Hamilton Harbour. Also registered are Jud Smith, 2006 Etchells World Champion. Tomas Hornos 2007 Snipe World Champion.
The entry list includes 26 boats from the USA, ten from Canada and one each from Australia and Argentina. Argentina is represented by the team of Alberto Zanetti and Gustavo Warburg and Peter Bellingham and Philip Toth will be sailing under the Australian flag. The Western Lake Ontario Star fleet is the host and organizing authority with Canadian Olympian Larry Scott as the WLOC Fleet Captain. RHYC and Hamilton Harbour are no strangers to major regattas with world championships for the Shark Class and for the Europe Class dinghy have been sailed on the harbour.
