Sailing community passes on condolences to Tesch family

Yachting Australia and the Australian Sailing Team, on behalf of the Australian sailing community, would like to express its condolences to Paralympic sailor Liesl Tesch and her family, following the passing of Liesl’s mother on the weekend.
Liesl has asked for privacy as she competes for Australia in the Skud 18 class at the London 2012 Paralympic sailing regatta in Weymouth.
While competing at London 2012 Liesl is a member of the Australian Paralympic Team and for the remainder of the Games all contact with Liesl is to be directed to the Australian Paralympic Committee.
'Liesl has made the decision to continue to compete alongside skipper Daniel Fitzgibbon for the remainder of the Games,' said Yachting Australia High Performance Director Peter Conde. 'Yachting Australia and the APC are committed to provide all required support to Liesl and her team mates at this time.
On behalf of the entire Australian sailing community we extend our sincere condolences to Liesl and her family at this difficult time. 'Our thoughts and best wishes are with them,' he said.
