Nautor’s Swan has an established and successful history of producing impressive ocean-going yachts from their yard in Pietarsaari, Finland. The latest in this line is the new Swan 80S launched this summer in time to enjoy the Baltic summer before travelling to the Mediterranean in time for the biannual iconic Rolex Swan Cup to be held 10 – 16 September 2012 at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in Porto Cervo.

The Swan 80S is an up to date expression of the fast maxi-cruiser concept, the result of accumulated knowledge, yet drawn afresh using the latest technology within its construction.

Described as a modern sailing yacht built to be fast, yet be perfectly in keeping with company’s traditional core values: elegant lines, luxurious interiors, ease of handling and reliability; her performance oriented hull and clean deck layout mask comfortable internal volume and a wealth of technical features that combine to offer outstanding long range cruising capabilities.

The hull form exhibits a near plumb bow with fine entry opening out to a modest beam carried aft with a broad flat section towards the stern. Below the waterline, a high performance T shaped bulb keel and a deep balanced rudder ensure responsive manoeuvrability.

Above decks, commitment to comfort is a priority with the aesthetically elegant sweeping top of the raised saloon flowing easily into the entertainment cockpit amidships providing a protected area with access to the main companionway which also benefits from a stylish integrated in-deck bimini, unique to the new models within the SwanLine.

With airy spacious interiors bathed in natural light based around a large main saloon set upon a raised floor, the desire to match the modern style of living is clear. With two internal layout options, the owners cabin can either be located aft or forward, with both offering a spacious well-appointed space, 3 additional guest cabins, extensive storage due to the raised floor to create the main saloon and crew quarters that are reached through the main galley.

The overall impression of the Swan 80S is one of graceful comfort. She is elegant to look at when stationary and conveys a sense of power underway. Her proportion and lines draw the eye and reflect a reputation and tradition that have been forty years in the making and show no sign of slowing up.

Luca Lucheschi, Commercial Director at Nautor’s Swan has been involved throughout the Swan 80S creation commented on the latest addition to the SwanLine:

'The Swan 80S is a natural extension of the SwanLine; offering two distinct versions of the Swan 80 enables our owners to tailor the layout according to their planned usage of their Swan. The Swan 80S has many features to ensure comfort and luxury while on board allowing both relaxed leisure time at anchor and extended blue-water sailing for the more adventurous.'
