by Moth Worlds on 10 Aug 2012
SW
Zhik Nautica Moth World Championships 2012, organized by Campione del Garda, are being held at Vela Club Campione in Italy from 18th to 26th August. Zhik and Nautica are official sponsors of the event.

On 16 August, with the races of the National Open Championship, one of the most important sailing events of 2012 begins officially. After the Olympics the World Championship of the International Moth Class promises to be the premier event attended by Olympic champions who will fly from London directly to Lake Garda.

The numbers are a new record, now 119 entries from 20 countries in four continents. The Zhik Nautica Moth Worlds will speak 13 languages!

The events will take place in the waters of the Vela Club Campione and Campione Univela respectively, the club organizer and manager of logistics services.

Italy ranks 12 athletes grouped into a single team supported by Kiwi Drops, PROtect Tapes and Velocitek.

Among the members of Team Italy we find popular sailors like Pietro Sibello, Enrico Fonda, Stefano Rizzi and Francesco Bianchi the defending Italian champion.

Zhik Nautica Moth Worlds wish to the home team good wind and hopes they will lead the races

As well as the National Open Championship and the World Championship Zhik has organized a special competition, the Mothapalooza, a race where the already spectacular boats will be judged for the Moth World Champìonship website
