Launching of two new products at the Sydney International Boat Show, ICOM is proud to introduce visitors to the IC-M91D handheld VHF radio, as well as the IC-M423 fixed-mount VHF radio.

'We’ve had a very busy show so far,' said Colin Bresnahan, ICOM representative. 'People are really interested in the new products.'

The IC-M91D handheld VHF radio, which comes standard with built in DSC and GPS, was developed to provide an more user friendly operating system. It also boasts an impressive active noise cancellation feature, which reduces background noise up to 90 percent.

The IC-M91D also has built in safety features, including waterproof casing, the ability to float in water, and a flashing ‘beep-alarm’ for in the dark retrieval.

'They’re fantastic for families,' said Bresnashan. 'You can use it with your kids on the beach.'

The second ICOM product new to the Australian market is the IC-M423 fixed-mount VHF radio. This transceiver comes equipped with intuitive user interface, in addition to the active noise cancelling functionality.

'We are absolutely expecting to sell some,' said Bresnashan.

Known internationally as choice supplier of communications technology among boaties, ICOM has been delivering reliable and quality products for over 50 years.

Bresnahan explains that the company is most excited to be selling the Marine Commander, a multi-function marine navigation system.

The product comes complete with MXR-5000 radar, dual sounder and fish finder and AIS transponder/receiver. The 12.1inch display screen, which can be split into up to four screens, has engine monitoring and video input capabilities.

'It the only one on the market that runs on two totally independent screens. You can run the fish finder on one and navigation on the other,' said Bresnahan.

The Marine Commander usually retails for $12,000, but ICOM is offering a Boat Show price of $6,999.
