2012 Australian Marine Export Awards announced

2012 Club Marine Australian Marine Export & Superyacht Awards Winners with the Hon Minister Elliot Parliamentary Secretary for Trade AIMEX
The 2012 Club Marine Australian Marine Industry Export Awards, organized by the Australian International Marine Export Group (AIMEX) were announced Thursday night at the AIMEX and Club Marine annual networking function in Sydney’s Darling Harbour.

VEEM Limited won the prestigious ‘Exporter of the Year’ award and ‘Best Marine Industry Export Performance (Large)’; other winners included Rivergate Marina & Shipyard, Hanseatic Marine, FinScan, Aqualuma Marine Lighting, M-Tech (Marine Technologies) and Sailfish Catamarans. Barry Jenkins was awarded the Marine Export & Superyacht Industry Champion.

Based in Western Australia, VEEM Limited won ‘Exporter of the Year’ and ‘Best Marine Industry Export Performance (Large)’. The Australian Marine Industry is renowned for its innovation, and the judges awarded FinScan the winners of the Most Innovative Marine Industry Exported Product. Barry Jenkins won the combined Marine Export & Superyacht Industry Champion Award. Barry is internationally known and respected within the Australian Marine & Superyacht Industry, having made a significant impact and contribution. Barry currently consults to the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show and Yacht & Boat Korea in the area of international relations and product development.

Industry involvement includes Past President of Marine Queensland, Past President of the Australian Marine Industries Federation, Chairman of Superyacht Australia and long-term Director on the AIMEX board.



M-Tech (Marine Technologies), Queensland manufacturers of a full range of marina service pedestals, were awarded Winners of the ‘Best Marine Industry Export Performance (Small)’. M-Tech specialize in the manufacture of innovative marine and leisure utility equipment and accessories, not only supplied within Australia, but exported all over the world.

The ‘Best Marine Industry Export Performance (Medium)’ was awarded to, New South Wales based, Sailfish Catamarans. Sailfish Catamarans are builders of high quality custom plate aluminum power catamarans for the recreational, government & rescue markets. Their philosophy is to build quality boats that not only meet but exceed their customers’ expectations. Their export business includes New Zealand, USA, Malta, the UK, and more recently established; Russia.

For the second time running, Aqualuma Marine Lighting were awarded winners of the ‘Best Marine Industry Export Marketing Strategy’ category. Queensland based, Aqualuma manufacture and export a large range of underwater, interior and exterior LED marine lighting. Aqualuma has a very strong and proactive marketing strategy, recognized as an ‘Australian made’ brand and product in the International arena. Their presence at a number of International shows has increased their exposure and has led to them maintaining their sponsorship of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

More recently, Aqualuma have introduced their new world-class booths, showcased at Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, METS, Fort Lauderdale, IBEX and Miami.
