John McCuaig elected as Middle Harbour Yacht Club Commodore - Seventy Third Annual General Meeting of Members of Middle Harbour Yacht Club MHYC

The 73rd Annual General Meeting of Members of Middle Harbour Yacht Club was held on Thursday 19 July 2012, at which John McCuaig was elected Commodore along with new appointments to the Board of Directors and Flag Officers.
This is John McCuaig’s tenth year of membership at Middle Harbour Yacht Club Member where he was most recently Club Captain for five years.
Outgoing Commodore, Julie Hodder, remains a Flag Officer, elected to the role of Club Captain.
Julie was thanked by the Board of Directors, fellow Flag Officers and Members of the Club for her two years of time serving as Commodore during which she achieved so much, most notably the campaign to host the 2012 International Access Class World and International Championships and the incredibly successful conducting of the event itself – a huge undertaking which Julie focused much time and passion towards.
Rear Commodore, Carl Crafoord, concluded his term after serving five years in the position. Carl has been instrumental in the growth and development of the Middle Harbour Yacht Club Junior Sailing Program which is currently going from strength to strength.
John Sturrock takes on the role of Rear Commodore having been a Middle Harbour Yacht Club Member for forty-seven years and having an active involvement with the Junior Sailing Program during this time.
Current Board Member, Nigel Smyth, moves into the role of Chairman taking over the position held by Walter Carpenter who has been Chairman for the past two years. Walter remains on the Board of Directors.
Tony Bates, Charo Devery, Neil Padden and Greg Young remain as Directors of the Club.
Greg West was confirmed as a new appointment to the Board of Directors.
Phil Clinton remains Vice Commodore, Racing and Colin Pitstock continues as Vice Commodore, Cruising.
