Rob and Nicole Douglass successfully gained their fifth Tasar Nationals on the weekend after a week-long
regatta at the Woollahra Sailing Club. The 'Coollit' team, who are the current World Champions in the class, sailed with exceptional consistency in the prevailing variable south-easterly conditions. With their fifth Australian title, father and daughter team, Rob and Nicole have now won more Australian Tasar crowns than anyone before them.

The regatta consisted of ten heats, with competitors dropping their two worst results. There were seven
different heat winners over the regatta, with only Rob and Nicole Douglass on 'Coollit' and Aaron Linton and
Jamie Jocheim on 'AA Team' who were the runners up, winning multiple heats. These two teams have battled
before, also finishing first and second at the last Tasar Nationals that were held at Airlie Beach in July 2010.

Aaron and Jamie, locals to North Queensland, got through the floods at the last minute and managed to make
the regatta.

The husband and wife team of Paul and Bronwyn Ridgway finished in third sailing 'Ridgididge', with Nev Wittey
and J-C Strong sailing 'Stunner' in fourth and Rick Longbottom and Candace Cushway on 'Navy Sailing' in
fifth.

The regatta would not have been possible without the tireless work of the Tasar Association of New South
Wales, and PRO Jeremey Atkinson and his team at Woollahra Sailing Club. Major sponsors Bethwaite Design
and Ronstan ensured that the regatta was a great success both on and off the water, along with minor
sponsors MaxiNet, Grotty Yachty, Your Super Solutions, Maxy Boats and Deanna Harken.

The next Tasar Nationals will be held in Darwin in July 2012, with many Australian crews heading to Torbay in the United Kingdom for the Worlds in September 2011.
