Extreme challenge for Aussie team

Oman Air, SAP and GAC Pindar.  Chris Cameron/ETNZ©
Ok, so they won the 18's now can they climb off the deck in the Extreme 40's?

Seve Jarvin, skipper of GAC Pindar, is preparing for the second event of the Extreme Sailing Series in Oman this week, after winning the JJ Giltinan 18ft skiff championship (the 18footers de facto World Championship) for the sixth time earlier this month, equalling the record held by former America's Cup skipper Iain Murray.

Now they need to come off the back of the pack in the Extreme 40's after a disappointing debut in Singapore.

The European season is ramping up now. This is a critically important year leading into Rio Olympics 2016, with the Santander ISAF World Championships in September 2014 being the major qualifier for countries ahead of the Rio Games.
