 13 May 2012

In January, at the Royal Langkawi International Regatta, we were very surprised to be told by an Australian sailor that the regatta turnout is Asia is better than in Australia. We've just finished the Top of the Gulf (53 boats, of which 12 in IRC 1), next up is Koh Samui Regatta (42 entries so far, 14 IRC 1 and 5 IRC 0). This weekend in Malaysia wraps up the inaugural Malaysian Match Racing Championship, and also Hong Kong's first international match racing regatta in 20 years. Evidently sailing is alive and well in in Asia - just look at the 108 Optimists in the Thai Nationals last week.

The hard part is getting the news out, but Sail-World Asia is here to help, and we are always delighted to receive your news - just click on the 'Upload News, Photos, Results, Events' button (you can't miss it - it's red and yellow) and fill in the boxes. We look forward to hearing from you.
