The America's Cup 2013 is set to make TV history

A heavy squall hit final competitors in the last hours of the Heaven Can Wait 24-hour yacht race on Lake Macquarie, Sunday 2 October 2011.  Greg Dickins

The Heaven Can Wait 2012 is heading for its seventh year, with a One Lap Dash and the ever challenging 24 Hour Race, on Lake Macquarie. The Lake's entrance is being dredged to three metres, so that will allow more Sydney boats to enter this year. Read all about it.

There was no further detail on the arrangement at this mornings weekly international media conference on America's Cup matters. However the arrangement at this stage covers only the America's Cup itself, and not the Louis Vuitton Cup and whatever is conducted as a Defender Selection Series.... [more]

Radio repeater invaluable in offshore rescue
