Alberto Rossi's Enfant Terrible (ITA) finished second at the Farr 40 Europeans but has taken the Overall prize on the European Circuit. Alessandro Barnaba's Fiamma was second, with Nico Poons' Charisma finishing third.

The Extreme 40s completed Act 8 with Tanguy Cariou's team on Alinghi securing the victory in Almeria, Spain. Overall, Luna Rossa (ITA) lead Edmond de Rothschild Group (FRA) by one point going into the final event in Singapore in December.
The Clipper Yachts continue to be battered by the wind and the waves on their journey from Cape Town, South Africa to Geraldton, Western Australia while the Rolex Middle Sea Race 2011, organised by the Royal Malta Yacht Club, gets underway on Saturday, 22 October. Racing will continue until 29th October.
Squalls, squalls and some more squalls seem to be the order of the day for the Charente-Maritime/Bahia Transat 6.50 fleet, with the Protos now round Cape Verde.
