Forty seconds, America's Cup videos and all the latest sailing news

Welcome to this week's edition of our Europe newsletter.

How close can it get after four weeks at sea, more than 6,700 miles of racing through the Southern Ocean and the South Atlantic to Uruguay?

Polish ocean racer Zbigniew 'Gutek' Gutkowski beat British rival Chris Stanmore-Major to second place by just 40 seconds in the third sprint of the Velux 5 Oceans.

In the Barcelona World Race, Mapfre co-skippers Iker Martinez and Xabi Fernandez are trying to win back the 200 miles they lost to nearest rival Virbac-Paprec 3 (Dick and Peyron) after being forced to make repairs, including a mast climb in fading light. And there is concern for Michèle Paret onboard Mirabaud, who has been unwell for the past month.

This week, looking forward to summer, we feature Wildwind Sailing Holidays in the Greek Islands. Its a must read and if you've not been there before a place every self respecting racing sailor needs to go on holidays.

The Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge 2011 is ready to set sail, there is news from the RC44 Cup San Diego, the Audi MedCup Circuit looks strong for 2011 with many new boat builds underway and in Australia the 18ft Skiffs JJ Giltinan Championship is underway.

Don't miss the America's Cup videos - an interesting 'blast from the past'.
