Farr 40 Worlds, Barcelona World Race and more great sailing news

The Farr 40 Worlds are underway in Sydney Australia and we have all the latest news and images from this championship. Dont miss Sail-World.com's blow by blow description of each day's racing. Will World Champions Massimo Mezzaroma and Antonio Sodo Migliori and their Nerone crew add another title to their impressive list? Racing continues through to Saturday.

Virbac-Paprec 3 (Dick and Peyron) continues to lead the Barcelona World Race fleet, while MAPFRE (Martinez and Fernandez) and the rest of the fleet are chasing. The fleet will be facing the effects of Cyclone Atu, stay tuned for all the latest.

The RORC Caribbean 600 is underway, with George David's Rambler beating Mike Slade's ICAP Leopard and establishing a new race record in the process.

A second row start to the first race by Transfusion (AUS) did not result in a second rate day for owner Guido Belgiorno-Nettis. A 4-4-2 scoreline leaves Belgiorno-Nettis in second place tonight by virtue of countback. America's Cup: AC45 capsizes in Hauraki Gulf + Video

The prototype AC45 capsized on the Hauraki Gulf this afternoon, sustaining serious damage to her wingsail, however the platform would appear to be undamaged and there were no injuries to the crew save for wounded pride. The incident happened off Murray's Bay on Auckland's North Shore. Winds at the time were around 20kts and the AC45 had been sailing at speeds of up to 28.5kts.... [more]
