Welcome to this week's Sail-World.com UK newsletter.
A few hardy souls are braving the weather to go sailing and we have news from the Ok Winter Championship, the Hoo Freezer, the Contenders at Datchat Water SC, the Leigh and Lowton SC's Tipsy Icicle Series, Yorkshire Dales Brass Monkey and Liverpool Yacht Club's Brass Monkey event. Well, it seems there are actually more than a few brave souls - well done everyone.
Velux 5 Oceans skipper Chris Stanmore-Major is preparing to face a battering as he rounds Cape Horn, Dee Caffari and Anna Corbella onboard GAES Centros Auditivos have passed through the Cook Strait (New Zealand) in the Barcelona World Race. After electrical problems they are fighting closest rivals Andy Meiklejohn and Wouter Verbraak on Hugo Boss for eighth place.

Closer to home Saskia Clark has revelead she is to partner with Hannah Mills, a former 470 World Junior Champion, for her 2012 Olympic campaign.
The Farr 40 Worlds are underway in Sydney Australia and we have all the latest news and images from this championship. Dont miss Sail-World.com's blow by blow description of each day's racing.
The RORC Caribbean 600 is underway, with George David's Rambler beating Mike Slade's ICAP Leopard and establishing a new race record in the process.
