‘It's all set to go,' said Royal Langkawi International Regatta Race Director Ahmad Zailani ‘Zack' Bashah, this morning. ‘We've got a good entry list and everything in place... and now we're just waiting fro the wind. You can't fix everything...' Almost 1130hrs and the AP is still hoisted on shore. ‘Last week the IODA Worlds had plenty of breeze, so I'm really hoping this isn't a case of ‘you should have been here last week!'

So, yes, it's a little quiet in Langkawi today, but nobody is quite brave enough to crack a coldie in the hope that it'll bring in the breeze.

Clipper Ventures have announced the building of a new fleet of racing boats for their 2013-14 event. Designed by Tony Castro, and to be built in Qingdao, China. Sir Robin Knox-Johnston told us recently that over the last few years there has been a continuous demand for ‘more racy' boats for the Clipper event. ‘The Clipper crews are getting more and more serious every year, and the new fleet will go a long way towards satisfying that demand.' Take a look at the sketches, below.

PIMEX 2011, the first Asian boat show of the year, closed with a lot of positive feeling around the docks. A reported USD17m in business certainly sounds good. And just in case you are looking to invest in a ‘sinking fund', check out the Love Love (below)!
