Another ‘newsy' voyage

Step aboard, stow your gear, we are dropping the lines, fore and aft and taking another ‘newsy' voyage.

Plenty to keep readers occupied this week, too, from both sides of the Pacific, both sides of Australia and up into South East Asia. Some of Australia's leading boat manufacturers, together with a score of their rivals worldwide, will be setting their sights on the world's largest in-water exhibition, the 51st Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

We bring a brief preview of the show as well as a look at that ‘mighty marque', the Cigarette Racing Team, which will be presenting its entire range at Fort Lauderdale.

Way across the continent, organisers of the Mandurah Boat Show, just south of Perth, have been delighted with the response generated by the show, quickly elevating itself to be Australia's third largest behind the Sydney and Sanctuary Cove International Boat Shows.

Singapore is the setting for the second annual Asia Superyacht Conference and we'll be keeping a weather eye and reporting on anything of interest that emanates from it.

Online – everybody's doing it, the latest is Honda which has inaugurated a site allowing prospective outboard engine buyers to fully acquaint them selves with the range of proven Honda outboards.

Speaking of engines, keep ear plugs handy – later this month and again in November some of world's fastest (and loudest!) boats will be engaged in ‘war' in Victoria with two UIM events, the World Unlimited Powerboat Championships and the World Hydroplane GP.

It really is all happening and here on Powerboat-World is where you can keep up with it all.

Enjoy the read and book-mark this address – – we update the important news as it happens.
